Position open for:
Lead Technician, Journeyman Installer
Hours: 8:00 – 4:30, Monday through Friday, with some overtime
Responsible for the installation of HVAC equipment to include control wiring, piping, duct work, charging, starting and testing. Candidate must be capable of completing installations within a reasonable timeframe, on or below the projected labor hours outlined for a specific job.
Candidate must be able to maintain required levels of installation stock items as not to unnecessarily delay job completion. He must possess those organizational skills necessary to plan, direct, and execute job requirements with minimal supervision. He must be able to effectively communicate with the customer and the Installation Manager. He should be able to evaluate daily installation challenges and determine the most effective course of action as to produce both a tidy and functional “system” void of poor installation practice which can reduce system performance and longevity. Daily Duties:
Performance Indicators: Certain key business indicators that will measure the effectiveness of the Journeyman Installer. These include but not limited to the following:
1. Number of times projects are not installed on schedule.
2. Efficiency in producing shop items by providing accurate drawings and
dimensions.
3. Accuracy of paper work, install hours and materials charged to projects and
the timely submission thereof.
4. The number of times the Installation Manager was not advised that the
project was behind schedule.
5. Number of warranty callbacks on workmanship that are processed for the
installer each month.
6. The number of times metal fittings are built, or installed incorrectly.
7. Cleanliness and organization of the project and van.
8. Equipment, tool, or vehicle failure due to lack of proper maintenance or
neglect.
9. The number of times a project fails an inspection or quality check.
10. *Apprentices are to be evaluated and to perform at a skill level equivalent to
their ability and training provided.
